Polaris Aviation Group stated that it has no ties to former Prime Minister Dorin Recean and that it is undergoing the standard certification procedure
The company refuted claims circulating in the public sphere regarding its alleged ties to public figures and receiving preferential treatment during the certification process. In a press release, the company stated that these claims are false, and that the lack of public communication prior to launch was due to the preparatory phase typical for a new company, but was perceived as a lack of transparency. It is reported that Polaris Aviation Group was registered on January 2, 2026, with its primary business activity being the air transportation of passengers and cargo. The company’s founders are Anatolie Damaschin, with a 50% stake (beneficial owner), Gicu Raducan, with a 25% stake, and Guram Gvedasvili, with a 25% stake. The company’s managing director is Gicu Raducan, who has 10 years of experience in civil aviation and 13 years of experience in the transportation sector. The company specifically emphasized that Dorin Recean is not and has never been a founder, beneficiary, financier, consultant, or party to any legal or other relationship with Polaris Aviation Group. It is also emphasized that no one holding public office has any direct or indirect connection to the company, including through intermediaries. It is noted that the company is currently undergoing the standard procedure for obtaining an Air Operator Certificate. As previously reported by the Civil Aviation Authority, the certificate is issued only after confirmation of compliance with all technical, organizational, and economic requirements. Polaris stated that it has not requested, received, nor does it intend to accept any preferential treatment. Furthermore, the company emphasized that it has no involvement in the authorities’ decisions regarding other aviation operators and has not taken any actions directed against competitors. Polaris stated that it is interested in an open market with a level playing field for all participants, “since only in such an environment can a new operator earn the trust of passengers.” It is specifically emphasized that Polaris Aviation Group will openly provide updates on every important stage of the certification process and is prepared to respond to media inquiries within the framework of the legislation governing the aviation industry. Earlier, as previously reported, Dorin Recean denied reports of his involvement with the new airline Polaris. // 10.06.2026 – InfoMarket.
