In Moldova the annual inflation rate (for the last 12 months) in January 2018 was 6.5% and returned to the range of the variable interval of ± 1.5 percentage points from the goal of 5%.
This was reported by the National Bank, noting that, in particular, the annual inflation rate in Moldova in the first month of this year amounted to 6.5%, decreasing by 0.8 percentage points, compared to the previous month. It is emphasized that the evolution of inflation in January 2018 corresponds to the last quarterly forecast of the NBM. This dynamic was due to the trend of strengthening the national currency, modest aggregate demand and the effect of a high base period in 2017.
