Moldovan government approved the signing of a contract with the EIB on financing the project for a total cost of 270 million euros on connecting the electricity grids of the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
The document provides for the allocation for this purpose by the European Investment Bank of a loan in the amount of 80 million euros. The authority to sign the contract was given by the Cabinet to the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Octavian Calmic. The department notes that the contract with the EIB will provide for financing the construction and development of the infrastructure necessary for the permanent connection of the transport networks of Romania and Moldova.
