Pegasus, HiSky and Fly One are the most non-punctual airlines: in July they most often delayed flights at Chisinau International Airport, - the Institute for European Policies and Reforms.

These are the results of the monitoring carried out by the expert of the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE) of the compliance of the airlines with the schedule of arrivals and departures to / from the Chisinau airport during July this year. The data is derived from tracking the airport's website. It is reported that in July, 900 flights (arrivals and departures) were registered at the Chisinau airport. The most frequent destinations were Antalya (25%), Istanbul (12%), Bucharest (8%), Warsaw (7%), Dublin (5%), Yerevan, Vienna and Tel Aviv (4% each). Over 40% of all flights to/from Chisinau International Airport in July were operated by Fly One. Overall, of the total number of flights at the airport, 42% landed and 39% departed on time. The most punctual companies in July were LOT airlines (75% of arrivals and 31.7% of departures were on time), Air Montenegro (75% and 50% respectively) and Tailwind charter company (73.6% and 73.3%). The least punctual airlines were Pegasus (42.1% of arrivals and 30.8% of departures were completed on time), HiSky (36.1% and, respectively, 55%) and Fly One (17.1% and 25.7%). At the same time, in July, Fly One was the only one out of 10 companies that canceled 4% of flights. In July, four other companies operated flights through the Chisinau airport, also with deviations from the established schedule: Austrian Airlines (69.7% of arrivals and 28.1% of departures were on time), Freebird (64.7% and, respectively, 54.5%), Turkish Airlines (55.4% and 33%), and Tarom (47% and 42.6%). The Institute for European Policies and Reforms notes some significant differences between landing and takeoff punctuality for most companies operating in Chisinau. According to experts, this fact indicates certain operational shortcomings in the activities of the airport, which negatively affect the work of airlines. The study also notes a significant difference in the punctuality of airlines and airports in Moldova and in the EU countries. The study highlights that monitoring the punctuality of airlines and airports is a common practice around the world. For example, according to the June 2023 Global Punctuality Report, the most punctual airline on the European continent was LOT (82.7% of flights on schedule), followed by Norwegian Air Shuttle (82%), Iberia (80.9%), Finnair (80.7%) and Austrian Airlines (78.1%). // 03.08.2023 – InfoMarket.
