
Government approves a draft law on ratification of the intergovernmental agreement on the construction of a cross-border road bridge over the Dniester River on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.
The matter concerns the Cosauti-Yampil bridge, which will connect the road infrastructures of the two countries on the T-02-02 Mogiliv-Podilskiy-Yampil-Kryzhopil-Bershad-Uman highway (Ukraine) and the national road R14.1 R14-Cosauti - border with Ukraine (Moldova). In addition, the road network through the eastern part of Moldova will be connected to the international road network, which will facilitate trade on the domestic and international markets. The bridge will be 1400 meters long and will have 2 lanes and 2 pedestrian sidewalks on both sides. The construction should be completed in 2025. The Government of Ukraine will provide financing for the technical design of the bridge, including its construction, as well as the construction of related infrastructure on the territory of Ukraine, and the Government of Moldova will provide the construction of related road infrastructure on the territory of our state. Earlier it was reported that the cost of construction of the access road to the Cosauti - Iampil bridge on the territory of Moldova is estimated at 900 million lei. Earlier, as a result of a tender, the Avtostrada group of companies was selected as the construction contractor in Ukraine. All aspects related to the construction of the Cosauti-Yampil highway bridge will be controlled by a joint Moldovan-Ukrainian commission to be set up for this purpose.
