Moldovan authorities do not plan the concession of Chisinau airport again, but are looking for investment projects and want to attract as many low-cost operators as possible.

Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Lilia Dabija stated this while speaking on the national radio. "'The state is looking for investment projects. The state is interested in attracting as many low-cost operators as possible, including ground handling companies, so that the capital's airport can continue to develop. We focus on investments, because they will create jobs, profits, here in Moldova. Our airport has an infrastructure, which allows us to attract new operators, including low-cost companies. However, we will continue to develop and modernize the infrastructure, and will ensure that the services offered at the airport will be competitive," the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development said. According to her, it is possible to attract new investments to improve the Chisinau airport runway, expand it, diversify services and attract new handling companies. "It is important for us to attract as many operators as possible, so that our citizens could fly from Chisinau to any part of the world at reasonable prices", Lilia Dabija said. According to her, the Chisinau airport development plan has already been worked out and will be presented soon. //27.06.2023 - InfoMarket.
