Moldova and Ukraine plan to build a border road bridge Cosauti - Yampol and put it into operation in 2025.

This is provided for by the Intergovernmental Agreement on the construction of a transboundary automobile bridge across the Dniester River, on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, in the area of the settlements Cosauti - Yampol, which was signed on June 12 in Kiev by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova Lilia Dabija and the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, the Minister of Development communities, territories and infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova, the bridge will connect the road infrastructures of the two states on the highway T-02-02 Mogilev-Podolsky-Yampol-Kryzhopol-Bershad-Uman (Ukraine) and the national road R14.1 R14-Cosauti - border with Ukraine (Moldova). In addition, the road network through the eastern part of Moldova will be connected to the international road network, which will facilitate trade in the domestic and international markets. The Government of Ukraine will provide funding for the technical project of the bridge, including its construction, as well as the construction of related infrastructure on the territory of Ukraine, and the Government of Moldova will ensure the construction of related road infrastructure on the territory of our state. The length of the bridge will be 1400 meters, it will have 2 traffic lanes and 2 pedestrian sidewalks on both sides. The construction should be completed in 2025. All aspects related to the construction of the Cosauti-Yampol road bridge will be controlled by a joint Moldovan-Ukrainian commission that will be created for this purpose. At the same time, during the meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian delegations, other aspects related to common priorities in the areas of road, rail and construction infrastructure were also discussed. Earlier it was reported that the cost of building an access road to the Cosauti-Yampol bridge in Moldova is estimated at 900 million lei. The Avtostrada group of companies was previously selected as a construction contractor in Ukraine as a result of a tender. // 12.06.2023 — InfoMarket.
