As noted by the National Bank, the following factors led to a decrease in the NBM official reserve assets in the reporting period: a decrease in exchange rates of currencies included in foreign exchange reserves against the USD: $49.35 million; payments related to servicing the external public debt of Moldova: $21.22 million; interventions in the domestic foreign exchange market in the form of the sale of foreign currency: $9.7 million; net payments attributable to required reserves of licensed banks in foreign currency: $6.81 million; payments by the Ministry of Finance: $3.22 million.
