The fee for the modernization of the airport will be abolished from January 1, 2024, and now the authorities are intensifying dialogue with air carriers to launch new flights and destinations from the Chisinau airport.

The Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry made a statement to this effect, noting that these actions are taken in the context of a reduction of tariffs for airport services for regular flights to/from Chisinau airport, starting from July 1. It is emphasized that the authority has adopted a set of measures, contributing to increase of market competition and providing citizens of Moldova with safe airport services at accessible prices. Following a recommendation of an interdepartmental working group, a decision was made to revise the tariff policy for airport services. Therefore, it was decided that starting from July 1, the fee for pre-financing of investment projects (airport modernization tariff) will be halved (from 9 to 4.5 euros per each departing passenger), and from January 1, 2024 it will be abolished. An order of the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, approving the tariffs for airport services provided by the Chisinau International Airport State Enterprise reduced the total cost of airport charges per passenger departing from 21.12 to 16.85 euros. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development will boost dialogue with air carriers on launching new flights and destinations from/to Chisinau Airport, and will continue working to develop a sustainable and advantageous air transport market for the citizens. // 20.06.2023 – InfoMarket
