The Parliament of Moldova adopted in the second reading amendments to the Law on the State Pension System to increase pensions.

The Parliament of Moldova adopted in the second reading amendments to the Law on the State Pension System to increase pensions.

In particular, the proposed changes are aimed at ensuring the functioning of a fair pension system, which guarantees a decent life for recipients of pensions, as well as increasing social guarantees. The bill provides that when determining the average monthly insured income for the period of caring for a child with a severe disability under the age of 18, for another person with a severe disability, carried out by one of the parents or guardian, the average monthly salary in the country will be taken into account on the date of determination of pensions. At the same time, it is proposed to assign a solidarity supplement to beneficiaries whose calculated pension is less than the minimum pension. Thus, it will be stipulated that if the amount of the pension, calculated according to the law, is less than the amount of the minimum pension for the corresponding category, the difference in the form of a solidarity surcharge is covered by the state budget. If the amount of the pension calculated for incomplete insurance period is less than the minimum pension, the insured person is assigned a pension in the amount calculated in proportion to the insurance period, but not less than 50% of the minimum pension. For 2021, the costs required to pay the solidarity supplement will amount to 512.7 million lei. The draft amendments to the Law on the State Pension System also provide for the right to review pensions. In particular, pensioners who have worked or are working after the exercise / revision of the right to an old-age pension / pension for disability may request a revision of the pension no more than once every 2 years, provided that the amount of the pension calculated according to the formulas given in the annexes , is more than the size of the paid pension. The revision of disability pensions, assigned before January 1, 2022, will be carried out depending on the insurance experience accumulated after the exercise of the right to a disability pension, in accordance with the special schedule provided for by the bill.// 30.09.2021 — InfoMarket
