The Energy Community Secretariat welcomed progress in the process of sharing cross-border capacity between the energy systems of Moldova, Ukraine and the EU.
This was reported by the National Agency for Energy Regulation, noting that earlier NAER approved the Agreement on the coordinated placement of interzonal transmission capacity on the border between the supply zones of National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" and the State Enterprise Moldelectrica, as well as the Rules for the intraday distribution of interzonal transmission capacity on the border between the supply zones of Moldelectrica and C.N.T.E.E. Transelectrica (Romania). These actions were supported by the Energy Community Secretariat and represent an important step to facilitate cross-border electricity exchanges between the three countries and EU Member States. The rules for the distribution of capacities on the border of Moldova and Ukraine were approved by the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities of Ukraine on January 30 and will come into force after the signing of the corresponding agreement between the transport operators of the energy systems of Moldova and Ukraine. The rules for intraday power distribution on the border of Moldova and Romania will come into force after their approval by the National Energy Regulatory Authority of Romania. The start date for intraday distribution of interconnection capacity will be determined by the transmission system operators of both countries. The Energy Community Secretariat thanked Moldova and Ukraine for their efforts to promote regional energy cooperation and integration, as well as for their continued activities aimed at integration into the European energy market. // 15.02.2024 — InfoMarket.
