Energocom purchased about 600 million cubic meters of gas (6.37 million MWh) from June to October 2023 at a weighted average price of $410 per 1,000 cubic meters (€35.07/MWh).

As noted in the Energocom report, for this purpose, from June 6 to October 5, it organized more than 40 rounds of tenders for the purchase of natural gas, both from its own funds and from a loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, of which 27 rounds ended with the conclusion of contracts. Natural gas was purchased from 9 companies from Romania, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland and Austria. According to the terms of the contracts, Energocom cannot provide additional information on specific transactions. The table provided by Energocom shows the indicative price of natural gas for the day after the auction (Day Ahead), the forecast for the next month (Front Month), and the indicative price for the first quarter of 2024 (Q1) as published by leading agencies providing price indices, business intelligence and market data on global energy markets, such as Bloomberg and Argus Media. The purchase price paid includes the cost of transportation to the delivery location listed in the table, and in the case of gas purchased directly from storage facilities, the price includes transportation and injection costs. "As with last year's auctions, decisions on procurement timing and prices were based on aspects such as the benchmark price at the gas hub in the Netherlands (TTF); on the fact that some transport operators, due to lower gas flows during the warm season, have lower transportation tariffs than during the cold season; the availability of transportation capacity, which is limited on some routes at certain times of the year, was also taken into account. Thanks to the efforts of Energocom's team and partners, the tenders were organized in compliance with the standards of transparency and competition, which reflects a strong commitment to ethical principles and best practices in the industry," said Victor Binzari, Energocom's interim director. // 15.02.2024 - InfoMarket.
