Premier Energy may increase the tariffs for electricity supply to households by almost 55% more, to 4.88 lei/kWh excluding VAT.
Premier Energy asked ANRE to approve the respective tariff, taking into account the sharp increase in the purchase price of electricity supplied recently by the state-owned Energocom. As noted, against the background of a shortage of electricity, Energocom has been buying it in Romania at higher prices. In particular, in October the prices were as high as 1.05 RON per 1 kWh. As a result, the average annual electricity purchase price in 2022 increased by 17% - from 158.71 to 185.71 bani per 1 kWh. In this regard, Premier Energy requests ANRE to increase the tariff by 54.9% - from 3.15 to 4.88 lei/kWh, excluding VAT, for residential consumers, whose electrical installations are connected to low-voltage (0.4 kWh) distribution network. At the same time, it has been proposed to increase the tariff for Premier Energy consumers, whose installations are connected to high voltage distribution networks (35; 110 kW) by 61.6% - from 2.81 to 4.54 lei/kWh, and for consumers whose installations are connected to medium voltage distribution networks (6; 10 kW) - by 64.5% - from 2.68 to 4.41 lei/kWh. If ANRE approves the new rates today, as planned, it will be the fourth increase of electric power prices in 2022. As of April 1, the rates for Premier Energy residential consumers increased by 43.7% - from 1.51 to 2.17 lei per 1 kWh (excluding VAT), from June 10 - by another 21.6% - from 2.17 to 2.64 lei per 1 kWh (excluding VAT), and from October 14 - by 19.3% - from 2.64 to 3.15 lei/kWh. // 02.11.2022 - InfoMarket
