NAER approved an increase in the tariff for the supply of gas by "Moldovagaz" to household consumers by 23.5% - up to 23 lei per 1 cubic meter including VAT.

NAER approved an increase in the tariff for the supply of gas by "Moldovagaz" to household consumers by 23.5% - up to 23 lei per 1 cubic meter including VAT.

Earlier it was planned to increase the tariff by 19.6% - from 18.62 to 22.27 lei per 1 cubic meter including VAT, but the new decision was caused by a further increase in the purchase price of gas. Thus, the Administrative Council of NAER approved an increase in the tariff for natural gas at exit points from low-pressure gas distribution networks (for residential consumers) by 23.5% - from 17,244 to 21,296 lei (previously planned to 20,616 lei) per 1 thousand cubic meters (excluding VAT), or from 17.24 to 21.29 lei per 1 cu. m (without VAT). At the same time, taking into account 8% VAT, it will increase from 18.62 to 22.99 lei per 1 cubic meter (previously planned 22.27 lei). The tariff for natural gas at exit points from medium-pressure gas distribution networks was increased by 25.7% from 15,633 to 19,654 lei per 1,000 cubic meters (without VAT), and high pressure - by 26.1% - from 15315 to 19317 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters (excluding VAT). New gas tariffs were calculated by NAER based on the average annual gas purchase price of $899 per 1,000 cubic meters and the exchange rate of 18.58 lei per $1. New tariffs approved by NAER will come into force from the moment they are published in Monitorul Oficial. It should be noted that the Moldovagaz company, in its request to the NAER dated June 30, asked to increase the gas tariff for household consumers by 42.4% - from 18.62 to 26.52 lei per 1 cubic meter including VAT, having calculated it taking into account the average annual gas purchase price for 2022 in the amount of $770.64 per 1 thousand cubic meters (the current tariff included an average annual gas purchase price of $696.02 per 1,000 cubic meters). However, later the Moldovagaz company updated its request to NAER for the calculation of gas tariffs in connection with a new increase in the price of its purchase on international trading floors and proposed to increase the tariff for household consumers by 58.3% - from 18.62 to 29.48 lei per 1 cu. m. including VAT. // 04.08.2022 — InfoMarket
