Moldova will buy 100% of the necessary electricity from Ukraine in case of cessation of deliveries from the Moldovan HPP.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu announced this at a press conference on Tuesday. He noted that the Moldovan authorities would like to sign a long-term contract with the Moldovan HPP for electricity supplies to have predictability and clarity, but for now this is not possible, including the uncertainty of the fate of further gas supplies to Moldova. "We are in discussions with Ukraine, and if there is an urgent, emergency situation, we will buy 100% of electricity from them and not 30% as it is now," Andrei Spinu said. As we have said earlier, according to the contract, this power plant, which is located in Transnistria, will supply electricity to right bank Moldova at a price of $59.9 per 1 MWh in July-August. In August 2022, Moldova will buy 30% of its electricity from 2 Ukrainian companies - Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo at the old price of $77/MWh. The average price of electricity for August is $65.03 per MWh, the same as the month before. And the electricity tariff for citizens and the economy remains unchanged. // 02.08.2022 - InfoMarket
