Government's activity is aimed at increasing investors' confidence, digitization of services and supporting economic growth - Dorin Recean

Prime Minister made the statement during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), which discussed the activity of the UN agencies in Moldova and analyzed the compliance of the assistance programs with the national development priorities. Dorin Recean expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to Moldova by the 3 UN agencies, aimed at strengthening the capacities of state institutions, integrating refugees, improving social cohesion, promoting demographic sustainability, economic development and social protection. “The assistance we receive is important not only to address current challenges, but also to seize development opportunities. Numerous transformations are needed to achieve our strategic goal of European integration, and the experience offered by the UN agencies for the implementation of the community's legislative norms helps us move faster on this path,” Prime Minister said. He noted that the government's activity is focused on continuing the reform of the justice system, ensuring the rule of law, which are crucial aspects for achieving other goals of the government. It also aims at boosting investors' confidence, increasing the digitization of services and supporting economic growth in order to achieve more social investments. The Executive Board members of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS commended the strategic partnership with the Moldovan authorities, the achievements in implementing key reforms, and the synergy of the European integration agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals to ensure a prosperous and inclusive future for all Moldovans. The Executive Committee of UNDP, UNFPA, and UNOPS is on an official visit to Moldova from December 2 to 4. Committee members are meeting with a number of ministers, local authorities and other national partners to identify current assistance needs in line with national development priorities. // 03.11.2024 - InfoMarket.
