Moldovan citizens will be able to remotely contract legal aid services
This is stipulated by the amendments to the legislation in force, passed by the Parliament in the first reading, concerning the electronic form of the lawyer's warrant. The amendments stipulate that the powers of attorney or trainee attorney shall be confirmed by a warrant, which can be drawn up both on paper and in the form of an electronic document signed with a qualified electronic signature. As noted by the Ministry of Justice, thus, thanks to this measure, the agency modernizes and promotes the digitization of quality legal services. At the same time, the adopted amendments will bring justice closer to the citizens of the Diaspora, who need legal assistance to resolve situations that arise in Moldova. The new rules will also contribute to the implementation of the E-dosar platform, which will automate the process of filing applications to the court and disseminating materials in electronic format. Prior to the amendments, the power of attorney form was printed on paper and stamped with the lawyer's seal. Other amendments stipulate that the professional holiday “Lawyer’s Day” will be celebrated in Moldova every year on September 9. // 28.11.2024 - InfoMarket
