The MFAEI will launch an online platform to register at Moldova’s consulates; citizens' interaction with consulates will be improved thanks to the eConsult program.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu at a government meeting, where the results of the agency's activities over the past 12 months and plans for the near future were presented. According to him, the main achievement and result of the year is the status of candidate country to the European Union received by Moldova. At the same time, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry worked on concrete measures, which are focused on opening of export markets for Moldovan products, settlement of social and economic issues. One of the priorities of the department is improvement of interaction with citizens who are abroad. For this purpose, legislation is being strengthened and agreements are being signed on social protection, recognition of Moldovan diplomas and driving licenses, etc. In 12 months, 9 such agreements were signed. Separate work is done on digitization of consular services and improvement of electronic services for citizens. Among them are MDelivery and MPay government services, and soon, according to Popescu, it will be presented a convenient system for online registration for an appointment at the consular services of Moldova - it is now at the stage of piloting, the launch is scheduled for October. Also, according to the head of MFAEI, the development of software for eConsulat - a service for citizens, which will simplify the online interaction of citizens with the consulates, has started. Nicu Popescu said the Foreign and European Integration Ministry will continue the promotion of Moldovan exports and attraction of investments to Moldova, and will strengthen the consular services teams in the countries where the Moldovan Diaspora is strongest. // 08.08.2022 – InfoMarket
