
The Civil Aviation Authority will provide oversight in the field of search and rescue operations, and the leadership of the institution will be appointed without competition.
The relevant amendments to the government decree on the organization and functioning of the Civil Aviation Authority were introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on August 3. These powers are also enshrined in the Regulations on the organization of the national search and rescue system in case of aviation accidents. At the same time, a new organizational structure of the Regional State Administration was approved, the number of divisions will be reduced from 19 to 15: the Security and Compliance Management Department, the Economic Supervision and Financial Management Department, the Internal Audit Service, the HR Service, the Department of International Cooperation and Mass Media Relations are being created; a number of departments of the Regional State Administration will be reorganized and renamed, the Light and Ultralight Aviation Service, the Certification Service and the Navigation Support Service will be liquidated. In addition, according to the amendments, the director and two deputy directors of regional state administrations will be appointed or dismissed from public office without an open competition, by order of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
