
The U.S. will provide an additional $16.7 million grant to Moldova to strengthen participatory democracy and increase the total amount of this aid to $113 million.
The press service of the Parliament reported this, noting that this would be the 13th amendment to the Agreement on Assistance for European Integration between the governments of Moldova and the U.S. to strengthen participatory democracy. The start of negotiations and the signing of this amendment was approved by the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration at a meeting on Wednesday. The aforementioned additional grant funding will be provided to our country through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to strengthen the responsiveness of state institutions and reduce the vulnerability of institutions and democratic processes. The provision of these additional resources will increase the total amount of funds allocated under the said agreement to approximately $113 million.
