
492 local development projects worth over 2.04 billion lei will be implemented under the "European Village" national program.
The government on Friday approved amendments to the Uniform Program Document for 2022-2024. The document includes a list of priority projects to be financed from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. The competition to select projects took place in March-April of this year. As a result, 492 out of 728 applications were approved, including 152 projects concerning construction/expansion/rehabilitation/modernization of water supply, water treatment and sewage systems; 120 projects concerning construction and reconstruction of public buildings, including energy efficiency measures; 71 projects concerning construction and reconstruction of sports facilities, care centers for children, elderly people and people with special needs; 52 projects concerning restoration, rehabilitation and reconstruction, conservation of historical monuments and structures; 43 - street lighting installation projects; 35 - development of city master plans; 11 projects - co-financing of projects implemented from external assistance sources; 8 - installation of energy production and supply systems using renewable resources. In the next stage, after the approval of the list of projects, the National Agency for Regional and Local Development will initiate the procedure for signing funding agreements with local public administrations. The resources of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development will be used to finance the winning projects.
