Participants in the EcoVoucher program save about 700 thousand lei per year on household appliances
This was discussed at the meeting of the Economic Press Club held last Tuesday, dedicated to the implementation of the program. It was noted that, using only one refrigerator as an example, a family saves from 100 to 200 kW of electricity per year. Director of the National Center for Sustainable Energy Ion Muntean said that in 2024, 7.5 thousand families were able to update their household appliances, paying only 30% of their cost, and in February-March 2025 - another 7.9 thousand families. For the next stage, which began on April 14, more than 9 thousand vouchers have been prepared. In turn, the managers of Bomba, Maximum, Hi-Tech stores, which are partner companies of the EcoVoucher project, who took part in the Club meeting, noted: despite the fact that the program incurs certain costs for business, it is economically beneficial for everyone - for residents, the state, and suppliers of household appliances.
