This was announced at the Retail & FMCG Market in Moldova forum by Maria Hurduc, CEO of the Romanian research platform Modern Buyer, presenting the "Map of Modern Retail in Moldova-2025". According to the study, the market leader remains Drăgan Group: its sales revenue amounted to 11.6 billion lei, which is 20.1% more than in 2023. In 2nd place are the retail chains of the Imensitate group with sales revenue of 4.78 billion lei (+ 51.3%), in 3rd place is 47th Parallel - 3.9 billion lei (+ 55.2%). The top 10 also includes Metro Cash&Carry - 3.2 billion lei (+3.1%), Kaufland - 3.03 billion lei (+13%), Rogob - 1.38 billion lei (+12.2%), Family Market - 0.8 billion lei (+7.8%), Pegas - 0.69 billion lei (+10.6%), Fourchette - 0.56 billion lei (-4%), Merci Gastronome - 0.2 billion lei (+64.8%). Maria Hurduc noted that the sector achieved such indicators taking into account the inflation growth of almost 7%. On average, food products increased in price by 7.17% last year, with the largest increase in prices for fruits (+29.1%) and vegetables (+25.3%). Prices for non-food products increased by 4.55%. According to the study, at the beginning of 2025, Moldovan retail was represented by 32 names of retail chains with 940 points of sale, of which 521 were in Chisinau and 43 in Balti. According to the presented map, the largest brand in food retail is Linella - 122 locations. The top 10 leading chains also include: Local Discounter - 90, Rogob - 65, Family Market - 41, Super Linella - 36, Fidesco - 31, Cip Market - 29, Merci Gastronome - 25, Express Linella - 22, Nr.1 - 18. These brands account for more than 50% of all chain retail stores in Moldova. According to the Modern Buyer study, from February 2024 to February 2025, 142 new stores of 15 chains opened in Moldova. For example, since April 2024, Drăgan Group has been developing a new network – Cip Market, having already opened 29 outlets, and this does not include the development of the previously existing Linella network and the transferred Fidesco network. Imensitate opened 3 PRIMUL Discounter stores and 2 Foxi stores last year, and expanded the LOCAL Discounter network. The Merci Gastronome network expanded by 9 stores, No. 1 opened its largest store in Forum Center, and the Rogob network opened 6 new outlets.
