Government approves a new Regulation providing for direct payments in the zootechnical sector.

Government approves a new Regulation providing for direct payments in the zootechnical sector.

These are subsidy payments for livestock (cattle, sheep, goats, horses and fish). Direct payments will be available to economic agents owning animals registered and operated in zootechnical farms located outside the locality: cows of at least 3 months of age kept in a herd of at least 5 heifers; 50 sheep and goats raised for milk production; 30 sheep and goats raised for meat production; 30 goats and calves; 5 mares and foals kept in farms certified in the breeding category or registered in pedigree registers. In addition, a new subsidy measure has been established. Farmers who own animals and supply their livestock products to processing companies will be able to benefit from direct payments per kg of products based on tax invoices for the sale of products. The amount of direct payment given to the farmer for each kg of product is determined depending on the product. Thus, for 1 kg of milk the following payments are established: cow's milk - 3 lei; sheep's milk - 5 lei; goat's milk - 5 lei. For 1 kg of live weight the following payments are established: beef - 10 lei; pork - 4 lei; poultry meat - 3 lei; mutton - 4 lei; rabbit meat - 7 lei. Direct payments for 1 kg of reproductive fish material: 3-day larvae (1 million) - 3000 lei; fry (1 million) - 7000 lei; summer brood - 20 lei; 1 year-old brood - 25 lei. According to calculations, direct payments from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development will require about 150 million lei annually for cattle breeding farms and 25-27 million lei for sheep and goat farms. According to the Agriculture Ministry, about 257 million lei was allocated from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development for the payment of subsidies for livestock in 2021 and 2022, of which about 107 million lei in 2021 and about 150 million lei in 2022. At the same time, it was noted that the amount of cow milk produced by farmers increased by about 14,000 tons per year. Thus, over 65 thousand tons of cow's milk was produced in 2021-2022, worth over 600 million lei. // 12.07.2023 - InfoMarket.
