The quality of Moldovan wines was praised by the most influential wine critic in the world.
This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, noting that the British newspaper Financial Times, focused on current economic events, recently published an article about Moldovan wines, which, according to the world's most influential wine critic Jancis Robinson, are of very high quality and are the result of significant investments in vineyards and cellars. Jancis Robinson, adviser to the Queen's Winery 2004-2022, co-author of the World Wine Atlas, noted that Moldova is the country with the highest density of vineyards per capita in the world, which has also made significant progress in winemaking. It is emphasized that, like the region of Burgundy or Friuli, Moldova is distinguished by its local varieties, as well as its blended wines. The article mentions the Protected Geographical Indication regions of Stefan Vodă and Valul lui Traian, and highlights wines from Purcari, Gitana Winery and Chateau Vartely available in the UK and US markets. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Moldovan wine reaches new heights of international reputation thanks to the efforts of our winemakers, investments in Moldovan vineyards and wineries, thanks to the effective promotion of the country's brand, carried out by the National Bureau of Vine and Wine, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, with the support of USAID's strategic partner in carrying out the most effective reforms in Moldova. //23.01.2023 — InfoMarket.
