Moldova will accelerate the process of digitalization of agriculture in order to create a better business environment for economic agents.

Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced this, noting that the digitalization of agriculture is to be accelerated this year. In particular, the Ministry of Agriculture hosted a meeting of the Coordinating Council for digitization of agriculture, which was attended by top officials of the Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister for digitization Iurie Turcanu, representatives of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), Agency for Development and Modernization of Agriculture (ADMA), Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service, Public Services Agency, Agency of Land Relations and Cadastre, National Bureau of Statistics, specialized institutes and business circles. The parties outlined the priorities of digitalization of agriculture, as well as the responsibilities of the participants in the process. At the same time, they analyzed the current situation regarding the ownership of existing information systems, as well as those necessary for the activities of competent institutions in the process of digitalization of public services in the agri-food sector. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea, noted that a feasibility study for the Registry of Farmers, a system that will centralize and unify agricultural information and allow institutions and farmers to access all data on agricultural enterprises and plots, as well as facilitate administrative procedures, is currently being developed with UNDP support. He also emphasized that in 2022 the Concept of the integrated information system "e-ANSA" was approved. The system is to be implemented by the National Agency for Food Safety this year in order to computerize the traceability processes for food of animal and non-animal origin. It will provide records of food chain operators and their farms, management of sanitary and veterinary measures, records of laboratory tests, registration and dissemination of alerts, records of animal and vegetable performance, management of documents issued by the Agency, and electronic services to citizens and the business community. // 19.01.2023 - InfoMarket.
