Moldova’s agrarians can receive funding of up to 2.5 million lei (but no more than 50% of the project budget) each under the program "Supporting the Transition to a Green Economy".

The Agency for Development and Modernization of Agriculture (ADMA) reports that the program was launched in partnership with the Future Technologies Activity project financed by USAID and Sweden. The program aims to develop sustainable agriculture, increasing the competitiveness of products by reducing production costs, ensuring the diversification of energy production sources and reducing dependence on traditional sources. ADMA finances agricultural producers with no interest and no collateral, and the costs charged to cover administrative costs are 1.5% of the project cost. Moreover, it is noted that under the Future Technologies Activity beneficiaries can receive grants of up to 200 thousand lei, which shall not exceed 20% of the project budget. With the help of funding from ADMA and their own contribution, farmers can buy solar panels with heating system (pumps, pipes, solar tubes), as well as photovoltaic panels for electricity production. At the same time, the project covers 100% of the costs associated with the insurance of the equipment during the period of the purchase contract in installments. Subsequently, beneficiaries can also apply for project subsidies through the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA). These subsidies are post-investment. So far, more than 20 companies from the agri-industrial sector have applied for the installation of photovoltaic panels and have requested grants of 5 million lei within the Future Technologies Activity. The beneficiaries of the program are winemakers, producers of honey, fruits and vegetables, poultry farmers, producers of fish and dairy products, etc. The average size of one investment in machinery and equipment for photovoltaic energy production is 1.1 million lei, excluding VAT, and the average value of the generating capacity of the park is 92 kWh. //20.12.2022 - InfoMarket.
