According to the National Office of Vine and Wine, 117 more wine samples were awarded gold and silver medals at the Wine of Moldova 2022 competition, but the International Organization of Vine and Wine’s regulations do not allow awarding more than 30% of the participating samples. Grand gold medals were awarded to Barza Albă, Călărași Divin, Vinăria Bardar, Vinăria Purcari and Wine Agrotrade. The competition "Wine of Moldova 2022" is dedicated to wines produced from local varieties, from varieties of new Moldovan selection and divinities. The competition took place in accordance with the regulations of the International Organization of Vine and Wine and was organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine. 53 Moldovan producers participated with more than 200 samples of wines made with local varieties (Feteasca Albă, Feteasca Regală, Rară Neagră, Feteasca Neagră), with new varieties of Moldovan selection (Viorica, Alb de Onițcani, Riton), blends obtained by mixing with European varieties and alcoholic beverages of wine origin or wine distillates.
