The national tasting competition "Wine of Moldova 2022" includes 52 wineries of the country.

The national tasting competition "Wine of Moldova 2022" includes 52 wineries of the country.

The contest is organized on the eve of the National Wine Day and will take place on the national level for the first time. More than 200 samples of wines of local varieties (Feteasca Albă, Feteasca Regală, Răra Neagră, Feteasca Neagră), from new varieties of Moldovan selection (Viorica, Alb de Onitcani, Riton), obtained by mixing with European varieties are registered in it. The competition also includes alcoholic beverages of wine origin and wine distillates. The wines will be judged by a jury of 20 members, national and international experts from 8 countries (France, Romania, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland). The competition will be held in accordance with the rules of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV). Samples submitted for evaluation will be grouped into 5 categories according to the OIV regulations: white still wines; still red and rosé wines; white, red and rosé sparkling wines; alcoholic and flavored wines; spirits. According to the regulations of the OIV, only 30% of the total number of samples participating in the competition will be awarded medals, and the best wine samples with more than 92 points will be able to win the gold medal.
