The national tasting competition "Wine of Moldova 2022" will be organized for the first time on the eve of the National Wine Day.

Particularly, the contest will take place on September 29-30 and will include wines produced from local grape varieties, from new varieties of Moldovan selection, wines obtained by blending with wines from European varieties and spirits of wine origin. The national contests are organized by the National Vine and Wine Bureau with the support of its strategic partner, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in accordance with the Rules of Conducting International Wine Contests, developed by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV). The wines participating in the contest will be evaluated by a jury consisting of 70% of international experts from 7 countries (France, Romania, United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland) and 30% of local experts. The winners will be awarded medals and diplomas during the official opening ceremony of the National Wine Day. According to the OIV regulations, only 30% of the total number of samples participating in the competition will be awarded medals. Those wishing to attend will be able to taste the medal-winning wines on National Wine Day, October 1 and 2, at the National Vine and Office’s stand. // 16.09.2022 - InfoMarket
