In particular, the main topic of discussion, which brought together representatives of government agencies, the business community, and associations, was combining efforts to develop medical tourism and promote Moldova as a regional hub in this field. The meeting, organized at the initiative of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister in conjunction with the Moldovan Medical Tourism Association, was opened by Minister of Health Emil Ceban, who reaffirmed his support for the development of the medical tourism sector in the country. Participants analyzed the development of the medical tourism industry, existing challenges, and discussed the need to create a Dialogue Platform on Medical Tourism, which would serve as a mechanism for cooperation between the government and the private sector. The development of a Roadmap for 2026-2030 was also discussed. During the meeting, Moldova's significant potential for exporting medical and educational services was emphasized, as was the need for a comprehensive approach to attracting international patients and students. It was noted that in recent years, medical service exports from Moldova have increased 3.4-fold, from $25.12 million in 2020 to $85.44 million in 2025. The proposed goal for the coming years is to reach $500–700 million by 2030 through infrastructure development and the promotion of high-quality services at competitive prices abroad. // 27.05.2026 —InfoMarket.
