The Moldovan Customs Service informed road transport operators about the new rules for the transportation of goods within the EU territory
According to the Customs Service report, the procedure for importing goods into the territory of the European Union is changing in the context of new requirements for pre-security control applied by the EU customs system. In particular, from April 1, road transport operators will be required to electronically transmit information on goods destined for or transiting through the EU through the Import Control System (ICS2). This Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) must be submitted before the goods arrive at customs points. The new requirements also apply to postal parcel carriers and logistics service providers. ICS2 will completely replace the previous system (ICS1) by introducing a new operational mechanism in line with the provisions of the EU Customs Code. The aim of the changes is to strengthen the security of the logistics chain and improve the efficiency of customs control. The Moldovan Customs Service recommends that economic operators and carriers familiarize themselves with the new requirements in advance and take the necessary measures to comply with them in order to avoid delays or obstacles at the border. // 10.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
