Some tariffs for airport services for flights operated from Chisinau airport have increased as of January 31

This is stipulated by the order on approval of tariffs for airport services provided by the “Chisinau International Airport” SE, published on January 31 in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). In particular, the tariffs for 2 categories of airport services for irregular flights and non-commercial air transportation to/from the capital's airport have increased by 1 euro: the landing tariff has increased from 7 to 8 euro/ton of maximum take-off mass (MTOM) and the passenger service tariff has increased from 8.7 euro to 9.7 euro per person. All other airport service charges remained unchanged, including the landing fare for scheduled flights (7 euro/MTOM) and the passenger service charge (7 euro/passenger). For scheduled flights, the tariff for aviation security for passenger aircraft - 2.5 euro per passenger per departure, cargo aircraft, mail - 5 euro per ton of cargo or mail, aircraft without commercial cargo - 0.3 euro per MTOM, as well as the fee for excessive parking of aircraft - 1.71 euro per MTOM per day remained at the same level. Let us remind you that the previously applied fee for the preliminary financing of investment projects (airport modernization tariff) was reduced from 9 to 4.5 euro per passenger in the summer of 2023, and from December 14, 2023, this tariff was abolished. It is worth mentioning that Chisinau airport is equipped with a runway 3590 meters long and 45 meters wide, which operates 24 hours a day and remains one of the longest in Europe. A 1 km section of the runway has been reconstructed and is currently in operation. After the reconstruction of the first section of the runway, the load-bearing capacity index of its pavements was increased, and after the reconstruction of the first section of the runway, its width was increased from 45 m to 60 m. Work was also completed to replace and modernize the runway lighting and signaling equipment on a 1 km section of the runway. In the future, after the reconstruction of the entire runway, the airport will be able to receive and service all types of aircraft without restrictions, including large aircraft - Boeing 777, 767, 787 and Airbus A330, A340, A310. The airport's capacity will also increase - up to 21 aircraft per hour, which will significantly increase the interest of new airlines to work at the airport. According to the ministry, currently 19 airlines operate charter and scheduled flights to/from Chisinau airport to 40 destinations worldwide. “Chisinau International Airport” SE plans to generate revenues of 839.2 million lei in 2025, while its expenses are planned at 640 million lei. In 2025, it is expected that at least 3.2 million passengers will travel through the airport and 723 thousand MTOM of cargo will be transported. // 03.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
