The area of the passenger terminal of the Chisinau airport is to be expanded by more than 5000 square meters
This was announced by Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea, who visited the Department of Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Construction and Housing, where the proposed concepts for the expansion of the passenger terminal of the Chisinau airport were considered. According to Vladimir Bolea, these investments are necessary to bring the capital's airport to the level of a modern European air hub. The necessity of this project is due to the constant increase in the number of passengers and the desire to offer citizens better conditions. “We will expand the terminal area by more than 5,000 square meters, which will make it possible to create new commercial zones - stores, restaurants, recreation areas; modernize and expand customs and passport control areas for a faster and more comfortable border crossing process; reconfigure and improve the airport infrastructure, including stairs, elevators and the second floor,” said Vladimir Bolea. Representatives of the industry ministry continued the discussions directly at the airport, where they analyzed the designs of new security and control zones together with its administration. “Our goal is clear - to increase efficiency, safety and comfort for every passenger in transit through the Chisinau airport. Modernization of the air transport infrastructure remains a priority and this project is an important step towards a modern airport able to meet the needs of Moldova, connected to Europe and the world,” the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development said. // 31.01.2025 - InfoMarket
