Moldova postpones until December the launch of the e-Bilet (e-Ticket) system for the sale of electronic tickets for road passenger transport
Initially, it was planned to be launched at the end of January. According to Ion Bocancea, Deputy Director of the National Agency for Motor Transport (ANTA), the decision to postpone the launch of the e-Bilet information system until December was made in order to adequately test the system before its official implementation. According to him, the postponement is due to the need to conduct additional tests of the system. The purpose of the e-Bilet system is to cover all tickets with taxation and ensure revenue to the state budget. The implementation of the e-Bilet system will automate the process of buying tickets for passenger vehicles. Passengers will be able to purchase tickets online, which will significantly increase the convenience and speed of service. At the same time, transport companies will have an opportunity to optimize their routes and increase their efficiency. ANTA will provide an online platform and a mobile application through which transportation companies will have access to their “personal account”. In it, carriers will be able to track in real time the movement of their buses and the number of tickets sold per day or month. ANTA also plans to use the data collected by the system to analyze the public transportation network and develop new routes that will cover areas with limited access to transportation. At the same time, the new system will make it possible to completely do away with paper tickets, replacing them with electronic checks. As Ion Bocancia assured, the fare will not change after the implementation of the e-Bilet system. // 23.01.2025 - InfoMarket.
