The Chisinau airport may be put back into concession, but the final decision on this matter will be made after a feasibility study

This was stated by the director of the Public Property Agency, Roman Cojuhari, speaking on TV8. Speaking about a possible new concession for the capital's airport, he noted that it cannot be said that it will necessarily be a concession or a public-private partnership. “This need must be established and communicated to the government during the feasibility study. Only after completing this analysis will we better understand the prospects of the enterprise, so now we cannot say anything concrete, we are only suggesting certain investment options in the terminal and modernization of its entire infrastructure,” said Roman Cojuhari. Recall that in 2013 the Chisinau airport was given a concession for 49 years. The concessionaire was Avia Invest, an affiliate of Ilan Sor. In 2023, the airport returned to state ownership. Earlier, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu noted that investments in the construction of a new terminal at Chisinau Airport, a parking lot, and a runway are estimated at 250-300 million euros. According to him, expansion of the capital's airport infrastructure is necessary due to the continuing growth in passenger traffic.// 29.07.2024 — InfoMarket
