The State Road Administration will cooperate with the Waze representative in Moldova to improve the efficiency of road works, optimize traffic, and increase comfort and road safety.

To achieve these objectives, it will act promptly on the basis of information provided by users of the national road network through the mentioned mobile application, the agency said in a statement. Thus, the messages of the drivers about the state of the roads, the possibilities of driving on them, the traffic in specific climatic conditions in certain sections, possible threats to road safety, obstacles, the frequency and location of accidents (including sections of roads with high accident rate), traffic jams and other aspects, will facilitate immediate intervention of mobile teams stationed in the territory in order to prevent or eliminate the deficiencies identified. This partnership will provide a two-way exchange of information between Waze and the State Road Administration, which will provide real-time access to reports and statistics indicated by drivers in the app. At the same time, it will enable centralized storage of data from Waze application at the State Road Administration, which will make it possible, for example, to analyze dangerous road sections in order to monitor accidents, identify the causes and take the necessary measures to eliminate them. The State Road Administration will contribute to improving the quality of Waze map and services in Moldova by sharing information about road segments (bridges, if necessary) to be repaired, with possible detours, about closed roads with high risk of accidents and about specific regional weather conditions to inform drivers about. In this regard, the State Road Administration encourages users of the Waze application to report possible deficiencies noticed on the national public roads to fix them as soon as possible. Waze is a mobile navigation application owned by Google and used by more than 140 million users worldwide. In Moldova Waze has been present for more than 10 years, offering the best routes to avoid traffic jams or warning about possible dangers on the road. // 13.01.2023 - InfoMarket.
