Traffic information will be available online in Moldova.
In particular, information on routes included in local, city, district, inter-district and international automobile programs will be available electronically. This is provided for by the relevant amendments, which the government approved to the Regulation on the maintenance of state registers, formed by the e-Autorizație transport information system. The amendments foresee the completion of the mentioned document with provisions regarding the creation and content of the Register of routes, which, besides the information on the routes included in the transport programs, will also contain data on the transport operators that are authorized to perform regular trips in national and international traffic. In addition, the structure of the Register, which will include the main mandatory sections: information about the route, schedule, mode of service, data about the public stations, has been approved. There will be also established a 6-month term for local public authorities to ensure the "migration" of data into the information system and training of the personnel of these authorities, in the context of the established requirements. The implementation of the project will make it possible to digitize the interaction between the central and local authorities and the business environment, and for travelers the Register of routes will become a reliable source of information. At the same time, the prerequisites for the implementation of electronic tickets for road transport of citizens will be created. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development states that the e-Autorizație transport information system is to be developed with the support of USAID in 2023, and, according to the memorandum of understanding, once implemented, USAID will also provide technical service in the first year of operation. Beginning in 2025, effective funding from the state budget will be required, and the necessary amounts will be provided when the new medium-term budget framework is drawn up. Given that the Register of routes is a subsystem of the e-Autorizație transport platform, the costs of maintaining the Register will be covered by the costs of maintaining the system, at the expense and within the limit approved by the National Road Transport Agency. // 12.01.2023 - InfoMarket.
