Romania has announced a tender to repair the railway line between Giurgiulesti and the port of Galati.
Romania's Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu said the tender deadline for repairing the broad-gauge rail line between Giurgiulesti and the port of Galati expires May 19. This rail line will allow the transportation of goods to and from Ukraine through Moldova. "Thus, this Danube port will become, along with the port of Constanta, one of the key points in the region for the transportation of goods and raw materials," Sorin Grindianu said. The repair of the railway line between Giurgiulesti and the port of Galati (with a broadened track - 3.583 km and with a normal track - 1.167 km) is planned to take 60 days from the date of signing the contract. The cost of the works is 1.289 million Romanian lei excluding VAT. They will be financed from the budget of the CFR Infrastructură Company. // 03.05.2022 - InfoMarket.
