
The repair of a section of the national road R34 Hincesti-Leova-Cahul-Giurgiulesti with a length of 83 km will be completed by the end of February 2023, the cost of the project financed by the EBRD is over 56 million euros.
The State Roads Administration representatives reported this, noting that during a working meeting they discussed with the contractor - the Turkish company OZKA Insaat - the progress of the contract for the repair of this section of the national road crossing the Hincesti, Leova and Cantemir districts. OZKA Insaat has assured that it will fully complete all repair work under the contract by the end of February 2023. The contract concluded with the Turkish company at the end of February 2020 provides for the reconstruction of the existing road network, repair of 9 bridges and 57 small tubular bridges, arrangement of public bus stops, restoration of street lighting in settlements. Acting General Director of the State Roads Administration Veaceslav Potop said that improving traffic conditions on the said national highway will provide infrastructure development, citizens' access to social institutions and flood protection measures in some settlements. He also emphasized the importance of performing contract works with high quality and on time.
