As it became known to InfoMarket agency, in 2020 Giurgiulesti port served 600 water vehicles of various types (including 208 tugs for servicing ships). The grain terminal handled 234.5 thousand tons of products (-40.7% compared to 2019). Through the oil terminal of the Giurgiulesti port, 211.8 thousand tons of oil products were handled (20.2% more than in 2019), of which 26.7 thousand tons were exported, and 185.1 thousand tons were imported. It is noted that the export of petroleum products through the port doubled, while imports increased by 13.9%. Another 1.5 thousand tons were supplied to residents of free zones, which is 9 times less than in the previous year. At the end of the reporting period, 70.2 thousand tons of oil products were stored in the terminal's warehouses, which is about 75.6% more than at the end of 2019. In 2020, 370.5 thousand tons of cargo were handled through the common commodity terminal, which is 12.7% less than in 2019. Of these, 23.9 thousand tons were exports of goods (-79.5%), and 346.6 thousand tons were imported goods (-12.8% ). Last year, this terminal also received building materials, grain in containers, alcoholic beverages and other goods. Also, through the Giurgiulesti port, the transshipment of vegetable oil continued - in 2020, 117.9 thousand tons of vegetable oil were exported, which is 24.2% more than in 2018. In general, last year the volume of wholesale trade through the Giurgiulesti port amounted to 4.7 billion lei, which is 13% less than in the previous year.
