The Moldovan Parliament has ratified the Agreement with Switzerland in the field of social insurance, which will allow Moldovan citizens who worked in Switzerland to receive a pension from this state

The bilateral agreement was signed on June 2 in Bern. The document provides for the assignment of an old-age pension, a disability pension due to general health, a pension and disability benefits due to an accident at work or an occupational disease, as well as a survivor's pension based on the principle of proportionality. According to the document, Moldovan citizens who live in Switzerland will be able to receive pensions and other social guarantees for the years they worked in both countries. According to the proportional principle of calculating pensions, each of the contracting parties will pay a pension portion calculated in proportion to the insurance period completed on its territory. The agreement will give citizens the opportunity to accumulate insurance periods from both countries in order to be eligible for social benefits, in particular, pensions. It will provide greater flexibility and opportunities to apply for social benefits in the country where they currently reside - in Moldova or in Switzerland. // 03.07.2025 – InfoMarket.
