Moldovan driving licenses will be recognized in Ireland.
This will be provided for by the relevant agreement, the start of negotiations on which was approved by the government, having formed a group of negotiators. In particular, it is planned to sign an Agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova and the Department of Transport of Ireland and the Road Safety Authority of Ireland on the replacement of driving licenses. The document will allow Moldovan citizens residing in Ireland to exchange their driving licenses without passing theoretical or practical exams. Holders of driving licenses issued by the Irish authorities will use such rights on the territory of our country. Thus, road traffic between the two countries will be simplified and Moldovan-Irish relations in the field of transport, road safety and internal affairs will be strengthened. Moldova has concluded similar agreements with Latvia, Spain, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Albania and Lithuania. The agreement with France has been initialed and will soon enter into force. Moldova also signed a joint declaration of intent with Germany on the transliteration of driving licenses.// 02.07.2025 – InfoMarket.
