In Moldova, the total number of EcoVoucher program participants who received assistance to switch to energy-efficient appliances exceeded 26.8 thousand
Government spokesperson Daniel Voda announced this, noting that tens of thousands of families in Moldova are saving electricity thanks to state and European support. According to him, thanks to the EcoVoucher program, more than 4,300 families in Moldova have received financial assistance to replace old, energy-intensive household appliances with modern and energy-efficient ones. Each eligible household received a voucher worth 6,000 lei, covering up to 70% of the cost of a new refrigerator or washing machine with low energy consumption. In return, beneficiaries handed over their old appliances for recycling, contributing to waste reduction and environmental protection. “We continue to help those who really need it—large families and the elderly—and are making a real contribution to reducing energy consumption in Moldovan households,” said the Government Spokesperson. According to him, during the three sessions of the program held in 2025, more than 15.3 thousand families received assistance to switch to modern appliances, and since the program's launch, the total number of households supported has exceeded 26.8 thousand. The EcoVoucher program has been developed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with financial support from the European Union. This EcoVoucher program edition is implemented by the National Centre for Sustainable Energy through the “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies for Moldova” (E4M) project. E4M is implemented by GIZ together with the Government of the Republic of Moldova, financed by the German Government and co-financed by the European Union, Norway, and Denmark. The current EcoVoucher round is financed by Norway. //25.06.2025 – InfoMarket.
