3 billion lei invested in Moldovan hospitals over the past 4 years - a record amount for our country - Dorin Recean
As the Prime Minister noted, there is still a lot of work ahead in the healthcare sector, but in just 4 years, the largest repairs and investments in hospitals and medical centers have been carried out. According to him, today many of them look like in some EU countries. "Continuing the European course will allow us to make even more investments to improve the access and quality of medical services for all citizens, regardless of the region of residence," the head of government said, noting that investments in the regions have begun - in just 1 year, about 400 million lei have been directed to the repair of district hospitals, and the first 95 pharmacies have been opened within the framework of the "Pharmacy in Your Village" program. Also, 184 new ambulances have been transferred to the Emergency Medical Service. The salaries of medical personnel have increased by 25%, forensic experts - by 35%, and non-medical personnel - by 85%. 9 maternity hospitals are equipped with modern equipment, and 9 district hospitals - with medical devices for newborns. The largest emergency department in the country (at the Institute of Emergency Medicine) was opened, equipped with the most modern equipment. The number of free drugs has been increased by 40%. In 2023, more than 800 thousand people received reimbursed drugs, which is 20.5% more than in 2022. "Continuing these actions is critically important to increase life expectancy, quality of treatment and health throughout Moldova," concluded Dorin Recean. // 19.06.2025 — InfoMarket.
