Construction and modernization of water supply and sewerage systems in the Soroca, Riscani and Cahul districts will be accelerated
In particular, the relevant work will be declared projects of national importance. The government has adopted a decision approving a draft law on declaring the development of water supply and sewerage infrastructure within the framework of certain sub-projects of the “Moldova Water Security and Sanitation” project to be of national importance. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, this will accelerate the expansion and restoration of water supply infrastructure in the villages of Pelinei, Satuc, Gavanoasa, Vladimirovca, and Nicolaevca in the Cahul district, as well as at the Vulcanesti railway station. It will also contribute to the construction of a regional water supply system and a drinking water treatment plant in the Riscani district, with water intake from the Prut River, which will provide access to drinking water for residents of the villages of Costesti, Duruitoarea, Proscureni, Pascauti, Domascani, Duruitoarea Noua, Dumeni, Horodiste, and Petruseni. At the same time, the sewerage infrastructure in Soroca will be restored, and a sewerage collector and a new wastewater treatment plant will be built. The implementation of these works will directly benefit citizens by providing them with access to drinking water from safe sources and modern sewerage services. Providing water and sewerage services to settlements in Moldova is one of the government's priorities. In the last three years alone, 940 km of water supply networks and 220 km of sewerage networks have been built, mainly in rural areas. // 11.06.2025 — InfoMarket.
