57 courtyards will be renovated in Chisinau and its suburbs in 2025 under the European Courtyard program

This was announced by Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea during a press conference on June 11. According to him, between April 8 and May 9, a total of 502 applications were submitted by tenants' associations and initiative groups to participate in the program. After analyzing the documents, an interdepartmental commission found 472 applications to be acceptable and meeting the competition criteria, of which 57 conceptual notes were selected. The program's budget of 250 million lei will be distributed equally among the sectors of Chisinau – Botanica, Ciocana, Riscani, Centru, and Buiucani. At the same time, an additional list of 32 courtyards was compiled, the reconstruction of which may begin this year if funds are available. The Minister stressed that the program will continue next year with at least the same budget as this year so that applications that did not pass the selection process this year will receive funding. As a reminder, the government's European Courtyard program aims to rehabilitate courtyards of apartment buildings in Chisinau and its suburbs, for which the government has allocated 250 million lei through the Budget +PLUS with financial support from the European Union. Each selected courtyard will receive up to 5 million lei for the repair of access roads and stairs, modern street lighting, parking lots, playgrounds, street furniture, and ramps.
