According to the National Health Insurance Company, 192 thousand people received reimbursed medicines and medical devices through the “Electronic Prescription” system in March. Pharmacies received 105 million lei from the mandatory health insurance funds for reimbursed medicines, of which 50 million lei was for the treatment of circulatory system diseases. The average cost of reimbursed drugs per beneficiary was 551 lei. During the period in question, the most expensive reimbursed drugs were for the treatment of skin and subcutaneous tissue diseases, with an average cost of over 1,180 lei per patient. Another 25 thousand people received reimbursed medical devices, with 6.6 million lei allocated from the mandatory medical insurance fund. According to the automated information system “Electronic Prescription for Reimbursable Medicines and Medical Devices,” in March, more than 313 thousand electronic prescriptions were issued through 1,641 pharmacies.
