From May 1, people of Moldova with an insurance record of at least 40 years will be able to receive an increased minimum pension of 3,300 lei
The relevant decision was adopted at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday. Through this measure, the government supports people who have worked for a long time in such fields as education, agriculture, social assistance and other economic sectors, but receive low pensions due to the small income they had throughout their career. According to the Cabinet, the new regulation will contribute to strengthening social equality and ensuring a decent life for the elderly. Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that over the last 3 years, the increase in contributions to the pension fund exceeded 13.9 billion lei. On April 1, the pensions were indexed by 10 per cent, the minimum pension increased from 1888 to 3055 lei, while the average pension doubled and reached 4407 lei. In addition, the most vulnerable pensioners received between 800 and 1,400 lei per month during the cold season. “All these measures demonstrate the government's commitment to support people with the help of our partners,” said Dorin Recean. The National Social Insurance Company (CNAS) will automatically adjust the pensions of beneficiaries eligible for increased minimum pensions without the need to submit an application. // 23.04.2025 - InfoMarket.
