
The government approved the laureates of the National Prize 2024, they will receive 100 thousand lei each from the state
According to the government's decision, this year, 8 figures of culture, science, medicine, art and sport became laureates of the National Prize for achievements in their fields. Thus, Maria Mocanu, singer, folklorist, writer and journalist, received the prize for her contribution to the promotion of national values; the artist Sergiu Galben was awarded for significant achievements in the fine arts and creation of national values; Nicolae Dohotaru, general director and chief conductor of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre, People's Artist, master of arts and teacher; Ion Ciutac, doctor of medical sciences, was awarded for outstanding achievements in surgery, including the development of mini-invasive methods of treatment. Denis Nica - doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, awarded for scientific achievements in the theory of heat transfer in nanostructures; Nicolae Negru - writer and playwright, political scientist, awarded for works that reveal historical events of Bessarabia in the 20th century; Serghei Tarnovschi - honored master of sports, participant and medalist of the Olympic Games, world champion and holder of other awards; Sergiu Cumatrenco - producer and distributor of films, awarded for his contribution to the promotion of Moldovan cinematography and cultural heritage of the country. The winners of the National Prize were determined by secret ballot at a meeting of the Commission for the National Prize Awarding on November 24.
