Vulnerable consumers in Moldova will be able to receive up to 7,000 lei for the purchase of new electrical equipment within the framework of the Household Appliance Voucher Program
This is provided for by the Household Appliance Voucher Program, launched by the Ministry of Energy and the National Center for Sustainable Energy. The 54.4 million lei program, financed from the state budget, offers vouchers worth up to 7,000 lei, which can be used to purchase energy-efficient household appliances: refrigerators (including those with built-in freezer) and washing machines with built-in dryer. Citizens who registered last year on the platform compensații.gov.md and received the category of extreme energy vulnerability will receive a voucher that will cover up to 70% of the cost of household appliances. In order to purchase appliances, beneficiaries will have to give back old appliances of the same type, including those that do not work. Vouchers will benefit vulnerable households, providing support to families with children, retirees, people with special needs, and other energy vulnerable households. The voucher program is funded by the energy efficiency obligation mechanism introduced by the Department of Energy in 2024. The official partners of the program are Enter, Bomba, Maximum, Ultra, Hi-Tech and A-Tehno stores. It should be reminded that last year a pilot program “Rabla for Household Appliances” was implemented in Moldova, under which many citizens received vouchers to replace old household appliances. The pilot program had a budget of 5.8 million euros, was developed with EU financial support and implemented by UNDP in Moldova. Under the pilot program, 7.2 thousand vouchers were issued for refrigerators, washing machines and electric stoves and 303.3 thousand vouchers for replacing ordinary light bulbs with LED ones. // 01.10.2024 – InfoMarket
